Inhabiting the space

We human beings, the most developed species also known as homo sapiens-sapiens  have developed our very own beloved planet The Earth by colonizing it in the locations suitable where we humans can survive with all the basic needs for a man of food and shelter are accomplished. But what we all humans share a huge mistake in common not only the huge amount of population around the globe but also using the natural resources of the Earth by the methods of mining and exploring the different parts of Earth. We have almost eaten the natural resources which help in the nourishment of ours planet by building the type of colonies especially also referred as ‘The Concrete Jungle’ and thus causing a natural calamity of the ‘Global Warming’ where our beloved mother earth is in the danger of hot rising temperature of the planet due to not only the greenhouse effect but also by the carbon emissions we do every single day which has led our planet to a stage that it is becoming hot every single day. Thus, the space dreamers and the space researchers and the inventers are now looking forward to inhabit a different planet, and again creating the same global warming effect to a another planet will be an issue and we humans would colonize different planet every single century till the time we don’t find a perfect planet where we can do immense amount of carbon emissions! We have also found out many remedies to solving the immense use of carbon but we humans could not directly accept the use of only social transit and electric cars and also could not even think for making a sustainable production with 0 carbon emission or no carbon use at all. Thus for solving all these type of problems NASA proposed an astounding theory in 1975 for inhabiting in the space might be by dream in a night by scientists like - Wernher von Braun and Herman Potočnik but seemed really practically possible to execute. They dreamed of creating a space station in the outer orbit of our planet where humans can actually live the life the way they want in a spacecraft made in a shape of torus, and they believed that they can create a huge city in the torus shape by creating an artificial gravity in the torus craft by rotating the torus shape around itself and creating a centrifugal force gravity of 0.9g and 1.0g and all the humans can live inside the torus in the circular circumference of it. They proposed that this torus or a doughnut shaped spacecraft can be of 1.8km in diameter.

They thought of that this torus spacecraft is capable of housing 10,000 to 140,000 permanent residents. The sunlight which the most essential part of nurturing the human body can be provided to the torus by creating mirrors to the outer shape of it. The ring is connected to a hub via a number of "spokes", which serve as conduits for people and materials travelling to and from the hub. Since the hub is at the rotational axis of the station, it experiences the least artificial gravity and is the easiest location for spacecraft to dock. Zero-gravity industry is performed in a non-rotating module attached to the hub's axis. The interior space of the torus was proposed to be that big where itself it can be used as a living space where the “natural” environment can be simulated. The torus was basically appeared to be a long, narrow, straight glacial valley whose ends curve upward and eventually meet overhead to form a complete circle.

So, the humans inhabiting the torus would simulate the way of living as we all live on our planet and possibly it is made in space the they would also take care of not polluting the space more and perhaps creating a huge space debris again! For practically making this torus, it would require nearly 10 million tons of mass and the construction materials extracted from the Moon and send to the space by mass driver and also mining on the asteroids would be an another source. Thus, this thinking is out of the ordinary which we all never think could be drawn into reality not very soon till we find out that there is no other option left for us to live and survive the calamities we would cause to the natural stars in the space. The costing of building this torus is very high but it was practically shown in the renowned movie Interstellar where humans build another source to live instead of the dying Earth.
